Soccer Strength Training and Conditioning

Soccer presents a unique set of physical demands to the young athlete. Cardiovascular endurance, sprint speed, ball-handling ability, and physical power to kick the ball for passing or shots on goal. Younger players must develop leg strength to perform soccer skills and improve performance; neck strength is important for absorbing the forces involved with heading the ball.

Resistance training can contribute to improved let, neck, and overall body power and strength of soccer players. Additionally, resistance training can improve muscle and connective tissue strength, which will help prevent injuries. Fast Forward’s sports conditioning program establishes a strength/power base for our younger athletes, as well as programs that are more aggressive/advanced for the experienced soccer athlete.
